Mailchimp is available on Starter and above. Free accounts can still view their leads and export them as a CSV.
Create an API key in Mailchimp. In Mailchimp go to Account, then Extras, then API keys, and create a key. Copy the whole key, including the part after the dash at the end (for example "-us21").
Connect once. In QuizFly go to Integrations in the sidebar, press Connect Mailchimp, paste the key and press Connect. QuizFly checks the key with Mailchimp and loads your audiences. We never show the key again. To change it later, press Replace key.
Then set it up per quiz. Open the quiz → Connect & Launch → Send leads to… → the Mailchimp block:
- Turn on Send leads to Mailchimp.
- Choose the Audience. This is required, because Mailchimp tags belong to one audience. Changing the audience clears the tags you picked.
- Pick tags to add to every lead and a tag for each result. Create tag adds a new tag name; Mailchimp creates it the first time a lead gets it.
- Choose what happens to new contacts: Add as subscribed (the default) or Send Mailchimp's confirmation email first. With the second choice, new contacts are "pending" until they click the link in Mailchimp's confirmation email, and Mailchimp only emails them after that.
What happens with each lead. The moment someone finishes your quiz, QuizFly adds them to the audience, or updates them if they are already there, then adds the tags. Someone who unsubscribed earlier stays unsubscribed. Any Mailchimp automation that starts on "tag added" runs as usual.
What is sent. Email, first name (when the quiz collects names), phone number (when the quiz collects phone numbers and the audience has a phone field), and the result as tags. Individual answers are not sent.
Send test. Sends a sample contact (a test address at quizfly.ai, named "QuizFly Test") with the first result's tags.
Deliveries log. Every attempt, test or real, shows under Recent deliveries in the quiz's Webhook section, with the status and timing. Failures show the error. If Mailchimp stops accepting your key, the Integrations card asks you to replace it.
Using another tool? QuizFly also connects to AWeber, systeme.io and Kit (formerly ConvertKit). For anything else, the per-lead webhook passes each lead on, directly or through Zapier or Make.
