Turn it on. Open your quiz → Create → Capture step → Ask for phone number, under "Ask for name as well as email". Three choices:
- Off — no phone field. Nothing changes for your visitors.
- Optional — the field shows, labeled "Phone number (optional)". People can leave it blank.
- Required — people can't see their result until they enter a valid number.
Helper text. One line under the field, up to 120 characters. The default depends on the setting: "Required" when the phone number is required, and "Optional — in case we need to reach you." when it is optional. Replace it with your own wording — this is where your consent wording goes if you plan to text people. QuizFly itself never sends texts.
What the visitor sees. A country flag and dial code on the left, the number on the right. The country code is guessed from the visitor's device — their time zone first, then their language — and they can always change it in the picker, or just type the number with its own country code (starting with +), which switches the picker for them. Opening the picker shows the full country name in every row, including the currently selected one; the closed field keeps just the flag and dial code so it fits narrow screens. The input shows an example local number for the selected country. On a phone, the numeric keypad opens.
How numbers are stored. Always in full international format with the country code, for example +447700900123, plus a two-letter country like GB. That format works in any SMS tool, CRM, or dialer without cleaning up.
Where they show up
- Leads — a Phone column appears once at least one lead has a number. Tap it on a phone to call.
- CSV export — two columns, Phone and Phone country, straight after Name. They're always present, even when empty, so your column positions never move.
- Webhook —
phoneandphone_countryare in every payload, nullwhen you don't collect them.
Consent is yours to get. Texting people for marketing needs their express consent — in the US that's the TCPA, and similar rules apply elsewhere. QuizFly stores the number for you; you're responsible for what you say when you ask for it, which is exactly what the helper text is for.
Never shared with ad tools. Phone numbers are never sent to pixels, Google Tag Manager, or any dataLayer.
