Quiz pages (quizfly.app/…)
Quiz pages set no cookies unless the quiz owner has enabled advertising measurement, in which case you'll be asked before any such cookie is set (or, where the owner has chosen to load it immediately, the page will say so in its footer). A random identifier is kept in your browser's session storage while you take the quiz so we can count starts and completions; it is not shared with anyone, is not linked to your identity, and is discarded when you close the tab.
The QuizFly app (for account holders)
| Cookie / storage | Purpose | Type |
|---|---|---|
| Authentication session | Keeps you signed in | Strictly necessary |
| Preferences (e.g. sidebar state) | Remembers your settings | Strictly necessary |
qf_ref | Remembers which QuizFly partner referred you, so they can be credited if you sign up. Stores a partner code and a timestamp. 30 days. | Functional |
| Analytics (when enabled) | Helps us understand how the app is used and fix problems | Analytics — you can opt out in Account → Privacy |
PostHog (ph_*) | Product analytics and session replay on quizfly.ai, so we can see how the app is used and fix problems | Analytics |
Meta Pixel (_fbp) | Advertising measurement on quizfly.ai only, so we can measure our own ads | Advertising |
qf_internal | Set only on our own team's browsers, so our testing is excluded from our analytics | Analytics |
On quizfly.ai we use PostHog (PostHog Inc., EU cloud, Frankfurt) for product analytics and session replay; while you are signed out nothing is stored in your browser for it. Quiz pages on quizfly.app and on custom domains do not load PostHog at all.
On quizfly.ai we use the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd) to measure our own advertising; it sets the _fbp cookie. Quiz pages on quizfly.app and on custom domains do not load it.
