Every quiz opens in the builder on three stages: Create, Optimize, Connect & Launch. The stage you're on is kept in the page address, so a refresh or the back button brings you straight back to it.
If you started in the Wizard, the full builder opens once you finish or choose Open in the full builder.
Create — everything a quiz needs to work.
- Questions — what you ask, the answers, and which outcome each answer points to.
- Outcomes — the results people can get, their copy, their photo and where the button sends them.
- Start screen — your title, description and whether the quiz opens on question 1.
- Capture step — the screen where people hand over their details, including the name and phone options.
- Brand — your logo and colors on this quiz. See Branding your quiz.
Optimize — all optional, and it makes a working quiz better.
- Encouragements — short screens that keep people going through a longer quiz.
- Images — show or hide the photos on your answers.
Connect & Launch — everything that touches the outside world. Your quiz works without any of it.
- Send leads to… — add every new lead to a list in your email tool.
- Webhook — post each lead to a URL of your own.
- Domain — serve the quiz from your own web address.
- Tracking — ad pixels, offer-link tracking IDs and your disclosure line.
- Publish — your quiz path, its live link and going live.
The ticks on the stage tabs
- Create shows a tick once you have at least 2 questions, at least 2 outcomes, and either a logo or a primary color in Brand. Hover or focus the tab to see what's left.
- Optimize never shows as incomplete. It ticks once you have at least one encouragement message.
- Connect & Launch ticks when the quiz is published. A small dot means it has never been published yet.
Nothing here is stored — the ticks are worked out from your quiz every time you open it.
Preview
The Preview button sits in the builder header next to Publish, and the header stays put while you scroll, so it's always one click away. On a narrow screen it becomes an icon. The keyboard shortcut is Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + P — it works anywhere in the builder except while you're typing in a field.
Publish also lives in the header and works from any stage. The Publish card in Connect & Launch holds the settings — your path and link — while the header holds the action.
Order of the Create stage
Create opens on Start screen — your title and description come first — then Questions, Outcomes, Capture step and Brand. Optimize (US spelling) is the second stage; old ?stage=optimise links still work.
Where the domain choice lives. Choosing between quizfly.app and your own domain now sits inside the Publish card in Connect & Launch, next to your link — there's no separate Domain card.
Preview on a phone or a desktop. The preview opens phone-sized by default; the Phone / Desktop toggle at the top switches. The line under the title reads "Shows your latest changes" because the builder saves as you type.
On a small screen. The sticky header keeps only the quiz title, Preview and Publish. The three stages appear as a compact switcher at the top of the page content. The points grid never scrolls sideways: each answer shows a Points chip, and tapping it opens one labeled row per outcome.
Long text. Answer text, outcome text and encouragement bodies grow to fit what you type — no tiny scrolling boxes.
