Custom domains

Available on every paid plan. Custom domains are $5/month each on every paid plan; Starter includes 0, Pro includes 1, and Agency includes 10. Domains appears in the sidebar on every paid plan.

Adding a domain

1. Domains → Add domain. Enter a subdomain you own, like quiz.yourbrand.com. Root domains (yourbrand.com) aren't supported — you almost certainly want your homepage to stay put anyway.
2. At your DNS provider, add a CNAME record: name quiz (the first part of your hostname), value connect.quizflyhost.com. The card shows both with copy buttons.
3. Wait. Certificates usually issue 2–10 minutes after the CNAME is live, occasionally up to an hour. Click Check now or let the page poll.
4. When it's Active, every published quiz is available at quiz.yourbrand.com/<slug>. The Quiz shown at quiz.yourbrand.com/ selector at the top of the card picks what visitors see at the domain itself.

In the builder, Connect & Launch → Domain links straight to this page, and you pick the domain for a quiz in Connect & Launch → Publish.

Everything else works unchanged: leads, stats, redirects, embeds, campaign tags (each lead records the domain it came in on).

Your quiz's brand — logo and colors — shows on your domain exactly as it does on quizfly.app.

Choosing which quizzes appear on a domain

Each domain has a Quizzes on this domain setting:

• All my published quizzes — every quiz you publish is available at quiz.yourbrand.com/<slug>.
• Only the quizzes I choose — tick the published quizzes this domain should serve. Anything else returns a not-found page on that domain, and keeps working on quizfly.app.

The domain's Default quiz is always part of the selection, so it stays available at quiz.yourbrand.com/ itself. Changes reach visitors within 5 minutes.

In the builder, open the quiz → Connect & Launch → Link → Domain. That list shows your active domains, and a domain that doesn't serve this quiz shows Not on this domain, with a one-click Add this quiz to … button.

Choosing which domain your links use

• Star a domain. On the Domains page, each active domain has a Use for share links star — tap it to turn it on, and the star fills in. Only one domain can be starred at a time. Once it is, every quiz link you see and copy uses it — cards on the Quizzes page, the builder, the Link tab and the embed snippet.
• Pick a different domain for one quiz. Open the quiz → Connect & Launch → Link → Domain, or use the Domain chip beside the quiz URL at the top of the builder. Choosing quizfly.app there keeps that one quiz on quizfly.app.
• How a link is decided. The quiz's own choice comes first, as long as that domain is active and serves the quiz. If there isn't one, the starred domain is used on the same conditions. Otherwise the link is your quizfly.app link. Drafts resolve the same way, so the link doesn't change when you publish.
• The quizfly.app link is always there. When a quiz card is showing a custom domain, the ⋯ menu also offers Copy quizfly.app link.

If a starred domain is removed or paused, links fall back to quizfly.app on their own — nothing to change.

If your domain stops working

We check every custom domain once a day, and you can check one yourself any time with Check on the domain's card. Under the hostname you'll see when we last looked and what we found.

• Pending — your DNS record is missing. Add a CNAME for the first part of your hostname pointing to connect.quizflyhost.com.
• Error — your DNS looks right but we can't reach the domain yet. This usually clears within an hour; check again shortly or contact support.

While a domain isn't active, your quiz links fall back to your quizfly.app links on their own, so visitors keep getting through. When the domain is active again, links switch back to it automatically — nothing for you to change.

We email you once each time a domain stops working, with what we found and the exact record to add, and once more when it's active again.

A domain that isn't active can't be chosen in the builder's Connect & Launch → Link → Domain picker; it shows as (not active) until the next check passes.

Which plans, and what it costs

Custom domains are $5/month each on every paid plan, billed from the day you add them. Starter includes 0, so your first domain is $5/month. Pro includes 1 and Agency includes 10 before that charge starts. The Domains page shows how many you've used, and your Billing page shows the domain quantity on your subscription. Free accounts can build and preview drafts; a paid plan is required to publish and add a custom domain.

Removing a domain

Remove a domain any time. If that removes a paid extra-domain slot, the slot stays available until the end of your current billing period; the $5/month charge stops after that.

What happens if my plan changes

If your limit shrinks — a downgrade, or an extra-domain charge ending — the newest domains pause first, until you're inside the limit. Paused domains stop serving; your quizzes keep working on quizfly.app. If your limit grows again, paused domains come back oldest first.

Removing a domain takes it offline within a few minutes; your quizzes keep working on quizfly.app.

Extra domains beyond your plan's allowance are available as an add-on.
